time to regroup January 31, 2009

I’ve been sorting through seems like reams of paper with keyword lists, notes on stuff I was supposed to do long ago, along with coffee cups and bills and whatnot all around my desk. It’s to the point where my mouse has like 6 square inches of freedom. lol. I need to find a better system of organization somehow. I’ve also noticed that I’ve been spending maybe too much time in learning how to do stuff with not enough time actually applying what I’ve learned. So the question I guess is, when you work at home for yourself, what are the best ways to stay on top of what the real priorities are and actually get things done that take your business to the next level. Firstly, I need to sort through all this stuff and toss what’s old and outdated. Then I’m going to need to hunt for some better solutions on staying organized and more importantly, staying on top of priorities.

Is Google Annihilation really worth your cash..? January 21, 2009

Now Google Annihilation is the latest thing hitting the internet marketing community. So let’s take a look at what it’s all about and then you can decide for yourself.

If you go to the main website selling Google Annihilation, you’ll probably notice that there really aren’t very many actual details in the sales pitch. I was reading and reading thinking, well at some point they’ve got to spill the beans and let people know what the actual product or service is, right…?

Not really. All you get are a bunch of clickbank income screenshots which I am personally sick of, along with pictures of this huge home and all that is supposed to be proof that whatever is being sold is lagit. Is this enough to convince or impress you..?

So I don’t keep you in the dark any more…what Google Annihilation is is a 3 way link network. If you haven’t heard of this before, it means that you’re not getting reciprocal links in this deal. Group A gives a link to group B and then group B gives one to group C and then they give a link to A… to complete the triangle if you will. Why the heck they don’t just say this I have no idea. Are they hiding something..?

It’s not that there is anything inheritantly wrong with this type of linking. I know that it works. Getting one way links is important for website promotion and I don’t think anyone could argue this. The more links with relevant anchor text pointing to pages with relevant content, the better your rankings will prove to be.

I wonder how many sites are actually in the network..? This really does matter afterall. If they have 50 sites in the network, you won’t get much value will you.

I’ve been considering what in the heck to do with this blog..and after having read the first entry I just didn’t know where to go with it. I guess by the way it looks it’ll turn out to be sort of a mishmash of things. So right now I am up to learning pay per click which I have always been a chicken to attempt because even after I warned him…what did my new to internet marketing father of mine do…? Of course. He went and lost hundreds of dollars running a campaign on his brand new, poorly designed, affiliate site offering what else..? Yes Music downloads! Jeesh. Ok…well you might be saying why was his sight so poorly designed..? The site was about music yet he had a cheesy looking book template and had the thing hosted on a free website on top of everything. Not one chance he could have made any money doing things that way, right…? Poor guy. He fell into the same trap that alot of us do when we first start out. Now to be fair to him…he did do some things right. He found some other product to be an affiliate for…some sort of book. He wrote some articles, changed each one around some so it wouldn’t be exactly same and submitted each version to a different article directory. And he made a sale! I was really proud of him and thought…thank God he’s decided to so the basics and learn how to promote stuff using tried and true methods that work without all of the risk that pay per click does- especially for newbies. Then….well he just couldn’t stay motivated and found other things to do. Right now he’s selling off all the things in the things in the garage that mom told him to get rid of on Ebay. He’s gotten pretty good at it too…I half way expect him to write an ebook about it soon. lol Love you dad. And well…let’s see. I am working furiously on one of my new sites right now: www.reviewppckahuna.com and let me share the why of this project. Even though I basically make my living on Adsense right now, we all know things can change in the blink of an eye and all of a sudden you can find yourself flat broke.

It was not the smartest thing I’ve ever done to quit my job and sort of mostly screw around the entire year of 2008!

Well I did have fun though! Let me tell you it was great to mess around going to 2 movies per week and hang out in Barnes and Noble reading stuff and drinking Starbucks.

But I know I am living on borrowed time- not literally, but I know that competition is out there working to bury me and I haven’t done anything to stay ahead of them.

So I am really ready to get back to work in a serious way.

The direction I see myself going is-

1- To diversify till the cows come home that when one niche dips abit there’s no interruption in income.

2- To learn pay per click to the point that I am able to go into just about any niche and find enough places to compete and win.

3- To create my own products and build a force of affliates that help me get those products out. They win…I win.

So, in line with these goals I have joined ppckahuna. What’s that..? Well if you’ve been around online any length of time maybe you’ve heard of Portalfeeder, maybe syndicate Kahuna. They are the same guys. I was a member of Portalfeeder back in 2005 when they first launched it but it was truthfully way way over my head.

I didn’t know how to do even the most basic things and just couldn’t hack the monthly price tag either cause I was just starting out online.

But then I had an interesting experience that I’ve never forgotten either. I won’t go into details here cause I was asked not to, but they went way beyond the call of duty with me and earned my trust as a result.

So, what I am doing along with a small group of others is going through the training, watching the videos, reading the PDFs and all to see if the information makes sense in the order it’s being given and that anyone could really get this stuff and make it work.

The actual software people will get to use has already been tested for the past year or so and is designed to help you find the ppc ads that are working the best for your competition. This should help anyone in same niche target the ads that are working and then write them better!

I see there are many other things that will be added as well. Interviews, webinars, PLR content and other tools that will help you split test your ads, landing pages, tools that will help you generate a campaign quicker than you thought possible, and the list goes on.

So, join me if you care to and I will be sharing my experiences with this service with you at my new blog along the way.

Here’s the kahuna site: ppckahuna. This site is not live to the public yet but will be soon.

I will keep you all updated here as well at the site dedicated to this project:   review ppc kahuna

I hope you join me there.

Well I have deleted and started over and over trying to figure out what to write about here in my new blog. I finally decided to go freestyle and see where it goes. I really want to use it to challenge myself to actually move my life to the next level in all of the typical areas of modern life.

That being, health and my quest to get back into shape and drop the extra weight I’ve been carrying for waay to long. Now that I have a Bowflex, it’s time to get on that thing and wear it out. Good or bad I’m gonna document my experiences here.

Another area is income. I’ve been a fulltime marketer since 1/1/08, and pay the bills with my income but haven’t been able to get to the next level where the freedom really is. I’ve read all the Tony Robbins stuff over and over…and countless other programs on getting more out of yourself to achieve a happier life. Well now I’m going to keep track of what I am doing in all ways to make myself better.

Another area I want to document is my efforts at drawing. I love the idea of being able to draw what I see in my head but suck at it. I got the book about drawing on the right side of your brain and I started to dabble alittle. I see a tiny bit of ability but want to really focus on it for just 30 minutes or so and when I get my scanner hooked back up I will stick my feeble stuff here for my own kicks.

Something else I would like to cover is my quest to own a trike. That’s a 3 wheel motorcycle for thos of you that might not know. I don’t know which kind yet, either a rice burner or a HD..we’ll see as I go.I used to ride a Goldwing. I loved it- even got kicked out of my house cause I was 17 and crazy and my mom knew I’d kill myself! haaha

One other thing is my inner life…as in meditation, visualization and creating the kind of life that I want. I do believe that our thoughts are things. That we must pay attention to what we think cause whatever we tend to daydream about and focus on becomes our reality eventually.

So..this is the plan and right now these are things I most care to write about and document. Mostly for my own consumption at this point. We’ll see.
